In an effort to learn Unity more I’m making an RPG. It’s pretty damn ambitious, so it likely won’t ever see the light of day, but it’s fun to dream it up.
It’s kinda like Pikmin meets Pokemon meets Mother meets Monster Hunter meets Fire Emblem. You fight swarms of monsters with randomly generated parts and animations and colors with a dispensable army of ‘lil warriors and an incredibly streamlined, turn-based battle system.

I whipped up the assets for a Western platformer for a game jam last month. I’ve posted bits of information on it across Twitter and other channels, but I figure I ought to consolidate the project’s progress here.
I completed all animation, sound and music for the project, but unfortunately the game’s programming was never completed.
Bits of its graphical assets can be seen at the top of the page, and the game’s soundtrack can be viewed below.

Over the past year or so I’ve worked on a few ‘remakes’ of a few NES games. I loved these games for their utter simplicity, and I think that the art style reflects that simplicity. By limiting myself to such a low resolution I’m forced to draw only the most essential and recognizable elements of each game.
In an effort to consolidate some work I’ve posted some screens of each of these projects.

Of course I draw myself drawing when I can’t think of what to draw. I’m trying to do two things here - 1) draw much, much faster, and I think it shows with the peculiar and rushed coloring job, and 2) draw more loosely - and this goes hand in hand with drawing faster, because usually I spend way to much time drawing and redrawing a single element until it’s ‘perfect’. I think it’s good not to worry about shape or perspective as much as I sometimes may though.
